TU523 - Hybrid-electric VTOL Aircraft
A country like Côte d’Ivoire, which is considered with having wealth in road infrastructure compared to its neighbouring countries is yet still facing great challenges. This is due to the countries current road infrastructure meaning to last for 20 years, actually only lasts 2-3 years.
The result of which is that 60% of the national road infrastructure is in a dire state and the country has to make a difficult decision on how to spend their budget, as the money to build the necessary new infrastructure as well as maintaining the damaged one at the same time is just not sufficient, which will hamper the country’s economic growth.
However the Côte d’Ivoire is not an exception to this mater,
As the majority of all developing countries will see these effects in one way or another. At the same time, this is where these countries opportunities lie – through the TU 523.
The TU 523 is an aircraft that is capable of taking off vertically just like a helicopter and transitioning onto a horizontal flight path where its wings will generate lift just like an airplane. The unique thing about the TU 523 is that it has been especially designed to transport goods in form of shipping containers without the need of new infrastructure.
Additionally, through our extensive research, we have found a way that will allow the TU 523 to operate at lower costs than conventional trucks normally used to transport the same freight.
The vision of the TU523:
Factors that have lead to this conclusion are the aircraft’s inexpensive and mass-producible fuselage together with the aircrafts hybrid propulsion system, that is based on the latest state of the art technology, and does not only supply the energy to the aircraft on demand, but simultaneously is environmentally-friendly too.
However, it is everything combined that allows the freight cost to be lower than those transported on the ground; the aircrafts versatility, speed and relatively low capital cost is what gives the aircraft its cutting edge.
Currently a dry port is under construction in Côte d’Ivoire at a cost of US $700 m. Situated roughly 700 km North from the Countries Capital and main Shipping harbour in Abidjan it will take a truck 1 day to reach its destination given the truck is capable of travelling at an average speed of 70km/h.
The TU 523, on the other hand would only have to travel half that distance and would be able to reach its destination within 1 hour with a cost of approximately 40% less than conventional transportation.
The TU 523 as a results in saving time, money meaning that freight can be transported to their destinations much quicker making any operator greatly more productive and profitable that allows for great new opportunities.
The energy source behind the TU523
The Reinhardt Turbine (RT)
The RT captures the wasted heat and turns it into Energy, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and contamination.
The Reinhardt Turbine operates on an integrated combined cycle system (of integrated gas and steam cycle) where pistons run within pistons making the process of generating energy more efficient. Initially the efficiencies of this approach lie at 55% and over 75% through a development path.
Additionally, the Reinhardt Turbine does not run on heavy crankshafts, but on cost- effective Sinus discs that enable a cluster/modular-based operation. This means that the Energy output accumulates as additional engine modules are added to the system.
In plain terms, it’s an innovative development, focusing on clean energy generation, that can be produced and maintained at low cost while being flexible in size, weight, power output with various uses and applications running on several combustibles.
This results in the Reinhardt Turbine being more compact in size, lighter in weight, scalable in power output, flexible in distribution and higher in fuel-efficiency.
All of which, make it an environmentally friendly alternative, due to the high power output and highly reducible contamination which is caused by reducing the fuel consumption dramatically.

Due to the fact that the Reinhardt Turbine operates on modular Piston technology, it can generate the power of a Turbine at prices comparable to piston engines, which lie at approx. 20-50USD/kW for piston engines compared to 700-1,500USD/kW for Turbines.
The Reinhardt Turbine generates energy when and where it is needed; within transportation such as, cars and trucks, but also on a home-based-level, in rural areas, where access to infrastructure is scarce or non-existent cities, industries and villages can also implement the Reinhardt Turbine.
